How to choose a water filter pitcher
Start with how much water your household drinks, then check what the filter is certified to reduce.
Size it to your household
The 7 Cup Pitcher fits in a fridge door and the 10 Cup and 12 Cup Pitchers fit most fridge shelves. If you refill more than a couple of times a day, a dispenser saves trips: the 22 Cup and 32 Cup Dispensers sit on a shelf, and the 40 Cup Glass Dispenser is made for the counter. For bigger households, Culligan with MaxClear Technology gravity systems hold 2.25 gallons (Scout, 1 to 3 people) or 3 gallons (Venture, 4 or more).
Check what it is certified to reduce
Many basic pitcher filters are certified for chlorine and taste only. Culligan with ZeroWater Technology pitchers and dispensers are IAPMO certified to reduce lead, Total PFAS and fluoride, along with other contaminants. Culligan with MaxClear Technology gravity systems are certified to reduce microplastics, lead and Total PFAS. See the full list on our certified performance page.
Plan for filter changes
Every Culligan with ZeroWater Technology pitcher and dispenser includes a TDS meter. When it reads 006, it is time for a new filter, usually around 20 gallons depending on your tap water. Subscribe & Save sends replacement filters on a schedule so you do not run out.
